This year we are working to finish Bacon & Eggs Skate Park. Finishing the park means new bathrooms (we don’t have any at all) and lighting. The Skatepark is right up against SR165 and when the sun sets, and kiddos are leaving with no street lights. Thankfully we have not any incidents, but we would like to prevent a possibility of an incident by adding lighting so drivers, parents and kids can see.
The Town of Wilkeson currently has one public bathroom in the Town Hall parking lot, which is very far from the Skate Park and Trail. Adding these public, vault bathrooms (like in the National Parks and Campgrounds) will help eliminate the need to run to town hall when the urge hits or the bushes. We are hopeful to secure enough funding this year to get the ball rolling on this project and see it completed before winter!
